From Mindfulness to Mystery

Mindfulness is about being present and it's the present moment that is the doorway to what we might call 'spiritual' or 'transcendent' experience. Many of us have a longing for spiritual growth but don't know where to find it or else feel that something (life? your own mind? emotions?) gets in the way. I offer monthly spiritual/meditation mentoring which is based in mindfulness, compassion, exploration and discovery, not in answers or doctrine.

I have a background in Tibetan Buddhism and lots of experience of walking a spiritual path, and I don't believe we necessarily need religion to do so. I've been both religious and 'spiritual but not religious' in my time and I respect wherever you place yourself in this diverse world. These days I personally feel a bit like a non-denominational contemplative with a gratitude to Buddhism for the grounding is gives me.

Our own heart is our best guide, if we can connect with it. And this connection is what I hope our meetings can encourage in you.

How it works:

Sessions are usually monthly and 1 hour long. We can agree a 'package' of 5 or 10 sessions (for a discount) or leave it open ended. Receive Whatsapp support between sessions where helpful and for the purposes of accountability, if that feels good to you. I also offer the option of creating bespoke guided audio meditations for you.

Suggested investment: £60 - £80 GBP per session

Concessions available - talk to me if this feels like too much, I believe in making coaching accessible!

NB. After teaching a Mindfulness meets Mystical Poetry course twice a year for many years, I                              have a treasury of poetry to draw upon for your inspiration. Below are exerts from three poems                          which have been popular on the courses and which might inspire you.

This magnificent refuge is inside you.
Enter.
Shatter the darkness that shrouds the doorway.
Be bold. Be humble.
Ask no permission from the authorities.
Close your eyes and follow your breath
to the still place that leads
to the invisible path
that takes you home.

To live in this world

you must be able
to do three things:
to love what is mortal;
to hold it

against your bones knowing
your own life depends on it;
and, when the time comes to let it go,
to let it go.

Like the peony that opens

and opens and opens,

this is how I want to meet life -

surviving the cold and then returning to

bloom again.
